"2nd Annual Royal Roulette [Event is Over]

The following rules have been designed to ensure fair play for all participants. Each player is expected to understand these rules prior to participation in the league/tournament.

Prior to the Game
Each team must have the minimum # of four players on its roster who have registered their team by the predetermined entry deadline. Additions and/or changes to any roster must be approved by a Staff member and completed prior to the start of a team's first game of the event. No substitutions are allowed once a team has played its first game of the event. A player is allowed to participate for only one team in each division for the duration of the league.
THE TEAM CAPTAIN WILL REPRESENT HIS/HER TEAM AS A SPOKESPERSON AT ALL TIMES, and must verify the score sheet has the correct roster prior to each game.

All games must start with four players on each team, unless the opposing team agrees to allow the other team to play with fewer players.
Initial possession at the start of the game will be determined by a jump ball.

Out of Bounds/Resuming Play: the ball must be “checked” every out of bounds or after a team foul. After scores, the team may inbound the ball from under their basket.

Game Play
Length of Games: Regular Season & Playoffs : 15minutes x 2 halves running clock. There will be a 2min half time.  The clock will also run on free throws and only stop the final 1min of the game (2nd half) on every dead ball.

Scoring: Games will be played on the half court side baskets. Baskets made inside the arc count as 2 points. All Games will start with a jump ball.  Baskets made when the shooter has both feet behind the arc count 3 points. If there is any doubt by the court monitor/ referees as to whether the made basket is worth 2 or 3 points, the basket will count as 2 points.

No Make It Take It: the ball changes possession after each scored basket.

Jump/held ball: Will result in alternating possession.

3 Seconds : Is in effect. First Violation is a warning from the referee.  Each Additional Violation will be a change of possession.

Substitutions: Substitutes can enter the game when a foul is called, or during a dead ball situation. Substitutes should not enter the game during any “live ball” situations. A substitute shall not be allowed to re-enter the game after being disqualified.

Stalling: no stalling is allowed. The referee, court monitor/referee may institute a 30 second shot clock at any time. After a team has been warned about stalling, failure to attempt a shot within 30 seconds will result in loss of possession.

Time Outs: 2 (30sec) timeout allowed.

Overtime/Sudden death freethrows : Regular season: if the score is tied at the end of the allotted time, the game goes to sudden death free-throws to determine the winner.
(If team #1 makes a free throw, Team #2 has a chance to shoot. If Team #2 misses then team #1 wins. If Team#1 misses and Team#2 makes a free throw then Team#2 wins. If shooters from both teams misses the free throw, the sudden-death contest continues to the next player in order until a winner is decided.)
PLAYOFF/CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES:  if the score is tied at the end of the allotted time, the game goes into a 2 minute overtime to determine the winner.

Personal Fouls/Free Throws **Updated: When fouled in the act of shooting, 2 free throws are awarded to the fouled shooter. If a player is fouled inside the arc the free throw counts as one point. If a player is fouled with 2 feet behind the arc in the act of shooting, 3 free throws are awarded to the fouled shooter. Any time a basket is MADE and a foul is called, the basket counts and a foul shot is attempted.
House league rule- No player fouls out, however, if a referee determines that a player is fouling excessively, the player may be disqualified.

All free throws are dead balls. Regardless of whether the free throw(s) are made, the possession goes to the opposing team.

TEAM FOULS (for team that was fouled) **Updated
**Each team will be given 7 team fouls per half before 1and1 free throw attempts are awarded. Upon the 10th team foul, the bonus will be in effect and the fouled player will shoot 2 free throws. **

Flagrant fouls or continuous misconduct will result in team forfeiture and team dismissal from the league. All flagrant fouls are called by the court monitor/referee.
First Offense: Player fouled will shoot one free throw and his/her team retains possession from the check box.
Second Offense: Team forfeits the game.
