Louisiana Flag Football Summer Showdown

Event Details

The Louisiana Flag Football Summer Showdown will take place at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

This event is designed as a competitive, organized, one-day youth flag football tournament for teams looking to get quality reps before the fall football season. The Summer Showdown will feature multiple youth age divisions and will follow a clean tournament structure built around pool play, bracket play, and championship competition.

Age Divisions

The tournament is open to the following divisions:

• 6U

• 7U

• 8U

• 9U

• 10U

• 11U

• 12U

• 13U

• 14U

• All-Girls 10U

• All-Girls 12U

• All-Girls 14U

Division Policy

Standalone odd-age divisions will only be created if registration numbers allow. If an odd-age division does not have enough teams, those teams may be merged into the closest appropriate older division.

A division must have enough registered teams to operate competitively. If a division does not have sufficient registration numbers, Louisiana Flag Football reserves the right to merge divisions, adjust division structure, or move teams into the closest appropriate age group.

The goal is to create the most competitive, organized, and fair tournament experience possible.

Tournament Format

The Summer Showdown is structured as a one-day tournament to give teams a competitive event without requiring a full weekend commitment.

Pool Play

Each team will play two pool play games.

Pool play results will be used to determine bracket seeding.

Bracket Play

After pool play, teams will advance into single-elimination bracket play.

Teams continue advancing as they win.

Game Guarantee

Each team is guaranteed three scheduled games:

• 2 pool play games

• At least 1 bracket play game

The game guarantee is subject to weather, facility issues, forfeits, or other unforeseen circumstances outside of tournament control.

Rules

The tournament will follow NFL FLAG 5v5 rules, with Louisiana Flag Football tournament modifications where needed.

Tournament-specific rules may include modifications related to:

• Game length

• Clock operation

• Timeouts

• Overtime

• Mercy rule

• Coach-on-field rules for younger divisions

• Sideline access

• Roster verification

• Pool play tie-breakers

• Bracket seeding

• Forfeits

• Player eligibility

• Sportsmanship and conduct

Final rules and tournament procedures will be provided before the event.

Age Cutoff

Player eligibility will be determined by the player’s age as of:

August 1, 2025

Players must participate in the correct age division based on this cutoff unless approved by tournament leadership.

All games will be played at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex, located at:

The facility provides a strong local tournament environment with multiple fields, convenient access, and a familiar location for Louisiana Flag Football families and teams.

Registration & Fees

Team Registration Fee

$300 per team

This registration fee includes tournament entry and referee payments. Teams will not be required to pay referees separately on game day.

No Ref Payments Required

Referee fees are included in the team registration fee.

Registration Deadline

Registration will close the week of the tournament or earlier if divisions reach capacity.

Louisiana Flag Football may accept late registrations only if space is available and if the late entry does not disrupt scheduling, division structure, or bracket creation.

Schedule Requests

Each team may submit one schedule request before the registration deadline.

Schedule requests are not guaranteed, but Louisiana Flag Football will consider them when building the tournament schedule.

Eligibility & Roster Requirements

Zorts Registration

All teams must complete tournament registration through the official registration system once the tournament link is released.

Player Eligibility

All players must be listed on the team roster before participating.

All players must have a valid and active Zorts ID.

Roster Rules

Players may be allowed to appear on more than one roster as long as they are not playing in the same age division.

Schedule accommodations are not guaranteed for players participating on multiple teams.

Roster Lock

Rosters must be completed before tournament play begins.

No bracket-only players will be allowed.

Players must be properly rostered and checked in before participating.

• Teams that fail to complete check-in on time may risk delay, forfeit, or removal from tournament play.
