RULES + REGULATIONS

Women’s 7v7 – 2025 CIF Format

Field Size: 40 yards wide x 80 yards long

Clock: 25-minute running clock

4 downs to score,

No-run zone eliminated: The previous "no-run zone" rule, which required teams to pass the ball

within 5 yards of the goal line, has been eliminated. Offenses can now run the ball from anywhere

on the field.

Defensive rushers: Defensive players must now line up just 1 yard off the line of scrimmage,

instead of the previous 7-yard distance. CIF has directed officials to strictly enforce the "no

contact" rule to adapt to this change.

Quarterback rushes: There is no limit on the number of times a quarterback can rush the ball

during a drive.

Punting introduced: An option to "punt" is now included. Teams can declare a punt on fourth

down, and the ball will be advanced to the opposing team's 20-yard line without an actual kick

Illegal contact: The CIF emphasizes a zero-tolerance policy for contact, including what might be

considered "incidental contact.

" Any contact will be called a foul.

Blocker: Legal no contact screen only

Scoring: 6 points per touchdown, 1-point PAT from 5 yards, 2- point from 10 yards
