Bethesda Girls Basketball League (BGBL) Winter 2022-2023

Washington Episcopal School, Little Falls Parkway, Bethesda, MD, USA

Games played on Saturdays & Sundays starting December 17th thru February 26th (If Games are canceled due to weather, make-up days will be added.) Players are required to wear masks during the games.
Top 6 teams from each division will make the playoffs. Play-in game to break ties for 6th place.
Four 8 minute quarters. Clock stops on Free throws, timeouts & the last 2 minutes of the game on every whistle.
Free Throw Bonus: 1-1 on the 7th team foul and double bonus on the 10th team foul of the half.
3 minute overtime. Each team gets 1 time out and the clock stops the last 1 minute on every whistle. If a second overtime is needed, 2 minutes will be placed on the clock and sudden death will be initiated.
Each team is allowed 4 timeouts per game (Two 30, Two full).
A team can play with a minimum of 4 players.
Each player is allowed 5 fouls.
20 point mercy rule will be in effect in the 2nd half. (clock will not stop except for timeouts as long as one team holds a 20 point lead)
Players must play in a minimum of three (3) games to qualify to play in the Playoffs.
Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated from players, coaches or fans. The League holds the right to discipline teams in the form of suspensions and up to expulsion from the league.
