Rules and Regulations

* NO REFUND OF REGISTRATION FEES ONCE PAID unless cancellation due to Covid-19.
* $10 Entry Fee per person, ages 8 and up (rostered players and up to 4 coaches/staff per team are free)
* Mouth Pieces are REQUIRED to be worn at all times during the game (except by QB)
* Helmets are not mandatory but are strongly encouraged

Age Requirements: May 1, 2021 cut off
•     The high school division is for current freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors. 18-year-old participants are allowed, provided they are seniors.
•     All players must upload a birth certificate and photo via the registration link at least 3 days prior to the game in order to be considered eligible to play. Wristbands will only be issued for players that have been deemed eligible to play. Players without wristbands will not be allowed on the field.
•     Any team participating with ineligible players will be disqualified from the tournament and will forfeit any wins, trophies or titles received and no refunds will be given. Our goal is to make the game fun, safe, and fair and we ask that teams respect and abide by these guidelines.

Field Dimensions
•     Fields are 50 yards long. 40 yards plus a 10-yard end zone.

Starting the Game
•     Visitors will have first possession at the 40-yard line (first team listed will be the visitor).
•     A horn or whistle will begin each game.
•     All games are 20 min running clock. The clock stops for no reason.
•     There will be one field manager per field. The field manager will keep score and game time. Field manager will announce the start of the game, time remaining at the 10, 5, and 2 min mark, and the end of the game.
•     A horn or whistle will end each game.

Moving the Ball
•     Offense always starts on the 40-yard line.
•     Downs are 3-3-3. Offense has 3 downs to gain a first down. First down markers will be at the 25- and 10-yard lines. Once inside the 10-yard line, the offense has 3 downs to score a touchdown.
•     The QB is allowed 4.0 seconds to throw the ball. If the QB has not thrown the ball when the 4 second time goes off, then the play will be blown dead. The play will result in a sack with a loss of down.
•     Players are not allowed to run the ball at any point in the game.
•     All passes must be forward. Swing passes are not allowed. Passes behind the line of scrimmage will result in loss of down.
•     The offense can use any formation to move the ball with a total of seven players - one QB and five eligible receivers. If used, a 7th player may only be a center to snap the ball from the tee and the offensive center is not an eligible receiver.

Scoring
•     6 points for TD. Choice of automatic 1-point conversion or the option to go for a 2-point conversion from 10-yard line.
•     2 points for an INT. Interceptions can be returned for a TD. If a player is untouched and returns the interception to the 40-yard line, the intercepting team will be awarded 6 points instead of 2. Interceptions in the end zone can also be returned for a TD. Interceptions on a 2-point conversion cannot be returned for a TD however, the intercepting team will be awarded 2 points.
•     Official score is kept by field manager.

Point Values
•     Offensive touchdown = 6 points (7 pts if coach elects automatic 1 pt conversion)
•     Extra point from the 10-yard line = 2 points
•     Interception = 2 points
•     Interception returned for a TD = 6 points
•     Tie Breaker (longest yard) = 2 points

Game Time
•     Games are a 20-minute running clock.
•     The will be no timeouts – the clock doesn’t stop for any reason.
•     Teams must be on site and ready to play when scheduled.
•     If a team(s) are late and cannot start when the tournament officially starts, they will begin play with whatever time is left on the tournament clock.
•     If a team shows up more than 5 minutes late, the team that was on time will be awarded an automatic 6 points once the game begins. A Forfeit will occur after 10 minutes of the game start time and the team that was there on time will be awarded 6 points with the final score being 6-0.

Overtime
•     THERE WILL BE NO OVERTIME IN POOL PLAY.
•     Overtime in tournament bracket play will be longest yard. Each team gets one possession at the 40-yard line and the team with the longest pass completion wins. If both teams score on their turn then this process will be repeated until there is a winner.
•     If the ball is intercepted in overtime, the intercepting team is awarded 2 points and wins the game.

Coaching on the Field
•     All team coaches will wear an identifying wristband for clarification purposes. A team may not have more than four (4) coaches/team manager/media on the sideline.
•     There will be one offensive coach allowed on the field.
•     No Defensive Coaches are allowed on the field.

Special Rules
•     No blocking. If a player blocks, the ball will be marked at spot of foul and will result in a loss of down.
•     One hand touch. The ball carrier is legally down when the ball carrier is touched with at least one hand below the neck. There shall be no intentional contact permitted other than necessary to hand touch the ball carrier. Any player that uses excessive force or contact is subject to ejection. The organizers, field manager or officials shall have the discretion to impose the appropriate sanction. A first infraction of unnecessary or excessive contact may result in a warning. A second infraction by the same player will result in the player being ejected for at least a series (until possession changes teams). A third infraction will result in mandatory ejection from the game. If there is flagrant contact, the player may be subject to immediate ejection at the discretion of the organizers, field manager or officials.
•     Players may be ejected from the game for taunting, trash-talking, or if the player is ruled un-sportsman-like or flagrant. If a player kicks/punts the ball, a 10-yard penalty will be assessed or loss of down, if the 10-yard penalty cannot be assessed. This will be the call of the organizers, field manager or officials.
•     Fumbles are dead balls at the spot of the fumble with the fumbling team retaining possession.
•     Once the ball is marked for play, offense has 25 seconds to snap ball. If the ball is not snapped in that amount of time it will be considered a delay of game and will result in loss of down. A delay of game penalty on extra point will result in forfeiture of the extra point attempt.
•     No penalty will be assessed beyond the 40 yd line. On an unsuccessful or successful offensive play from the 40 yd line resulting in an offensive penalty: The ball will be returned to the 40 yd line and 1st down will become 2nd down; 2nd down will become 3rd down; and 3rd down will result in a turnover.
•     Offensive team is responsible for retrieving and returning the ball to the previous spot or the new scrimmage spot in a timely fashion. Failure to do so can result in a delay of game penalty.
•     No blitzing in any game. If a team tries to blitz, it will result in a 10-yard penalty and repeat of the down (unless the 10-yard penalty results in a first down).
•     Defensive Pass Interference or Defensive Holding will result in an automatic first down and the ball will be moved to the next first down marker. If penalty happens within 10 yards of the goal, the ball will be placed at half the distance to the goal.
•     Offensive pass interference will result in loss of down.
•     Pressing and bumping off the line is allowed within the first 5 yards.
•     If the losing team scores as the game clock expires, the losing team will have an opportunity to go for the 2-point conversion. This will only be allowed if scoring the 2 points will affect the outcome of the game.

Tournament Tie Breaker
•     First criteria is Head-to-Head; Second criteria is Point Differential; Third criteria is Points Allowed, Fourth criteria is Points Scored, if all above still tied then coin toss will determine the pool winners or teams to advance.
•     In a three-way tie, only the scores of games between teams in the tie will be counted. Once a winner has been declared, the remaining two teams will revert to head-to-head to break the remaining tie.

Playoff Bracket
•     Teams will be seeded according to their pool play record which is based on Head-to-Head, then point differential, then points allowed.
•     The higher seed has the choice of whether to start on offense or defense.

Fan Seating
•     In the main stadium, all fans, parents, etc must sit in the stands. No one will be allowed on the field unless they are wearing the appropriate wristband.  

Code of Conduct
•     Players, coaches, parents, and spectators are to conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates good sportsmanship and respect to other players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators. Ball or Fall reserves the right to eject any player, coach, parent or spectator from the tournament for failure to abide by its code of conduct.
•     Fighting: the player(s) involved will be ejected from the game and tournament. If a team fight occurs, the teams involved will be ejected from the tournament.
