Frequently Asked Questions:

What's the address to the tournament?
- Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center: 2800 Olympic Pkwy, Chula Vista, CA 91915

Turf or Grass?
- Grass

Outside Food/Drinks Allowed?
- Yes (clean up after yourselves : ) )

Are canopies/tents allowed?
- Yes, weighted around the end zones (only players/coaches in between fields/sidelines during their time of play).  Canopies/tents must be at the fence line or if there is no fence, then at least 7 yards away from the nearest line of the field.  We must be able to get a golf cart between the field and nearest spectator area.  

Will there be seating?
- Some bleacher seating, but we recommend bringing chairs due to the amount of teams coming in not just from the youth side, but the adult side as well.

When is team check in?
- TBA

**ONLY ELIGIBLE Coaches and Players will be checked in.  Make sure all coaches are listed as a coach.  If you are the club admin and also a coach, you must add yourself as a coach.

Media: You may have your own media person.  They may not be on the sideline with the team unless they are listed as one of the 3 coaches.  Media may be in the spectator sections.  Absolutely NO drones or recording equipment on the sideline.

WRISTBANDS:  Every player and coach MUST keep their wristbands on until the tournament is over.  If you cut it off, you will have to check in again and pay a $5 fee.  Parents please make sure that your player or players are aware of this to help your coaches out!  Younger players tend to want to pull them off more than the older players.

The Draft

Is being on the draft call required?  No, but we absolutely encourage a team representative to be on the call to draft for a specific timeframe or teams to match up against for your pool play games.
When will the draft be?  The draft date and time will be announced after registration is completed and all teams are paid in full will be allowed to join the draft.

Equipment Questions:
Do we have to provide our own flags?  Yes
What flags are allowed?  Youth Shruumz or Sonic Flag a Tag style (must meet the requirements in our rules).
Are NFL Flag or USA Football Flags allowed?  No, they do not meet our criteria on measurements.
Do you have to provide your own football?  Yes (must meet standard sizing-see rules).
Are mouth guards required?  No, but highly encouraged.  Mouth guards must be worn properly.
Are soft shell helmets required?  No, but you can wear them or a protective headband, but they must be secured.

Game Play & Playoffs:
When are games played? Both Boys and Girls 5v5 formats will play Sunday only.
How many brackets are there?  One and it's single elimination.
How are the brackets based?  Division ranking is based on 1) Winning Percentage, 2) Total Wins, 3) Head to Head and 4) Point Differential.  The next tie breaker will be points against, otherwise net points used.  Finally, if still tied and electronic coin toss will decide.

Parking/Gate Fees: TBA

Facility/Event Policies:
- No Pets
- No Alcohol or Tobacco Products
- Must pick up team trash around your team's area
- No drones
- No recording equipment on sidelines
- Must stay within the confines of the iFlag event.

Rosters:
How many players are allowed on the roster?  5v5 Standard - 12 Players/3 Coaches
When are rosters due?  Roster editing ends September 11, 2026 by 11:55 PM
Can I protest a roster?  Yes, you may protest ONE player per protest.  You will need to call a timeout and ask for a director.  Even if you're out of timeouts, you can still call a timeout for a protest.  The player must have played at least one down to be protested.  If you win the protest, the team is disqualified from the tournament.  If you lose the protest you will lose all remaining timeouts.  If you didn't have a timeout then you will get a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty.

Code of Conduct:  We at iFlag have high standards for our staff, teams and spectators in the treatment of all persons at our events.  We expect ALL to be respectful to each other.  We will not hesitate to remove anyone that is being disrespectful or threatening a staff member, player, coach or spectator.  It is at our discretion to move said person(s) for the event and possibly events to come.
